About Mailopoly

“I started Mailopoly because email had been broken for two decades and the people who could fix it didn’t want to.”

— Patrick Culbert, Founder & CEO

What Mailopoly is

The people who handle email best are the ones with a personal assistant. The PA triages, files what doesn’t matter, surfaces what does, and handles the tasks hiding inside it. Mailopoly is that — for everyone.

Your inbox becomes two boxes. Cleanbox holds the emails you actually want to see. Everything else lands silently in Other, and you skim it with Catch-Up on your cadence — not theirs.

My Day is the task list that finally works — because you don’t have to keep it up. The moment you connect Mailopoly, it’s already populated: bills to approve, replies owed, events to attend, dates to remember. Add your own to-dos and they sit alongside, in the order things actually need to happen.

Poly is the assistant layer over all of it. Ask it anything that’s ever been in your email — “what time was Sarah’s flight”, “who quoted us for the roof”, “what’s the dentist bill”. When an email genuinely needs a reply, Poly drafts three ready-to-go options in your voice.

Why we built it

We waited a long time for the giants running our inboxes to fix them — and to use the data inside them for us, not for themselves. They had no real incentive to. So we built it.

The team

Mailopoly is built in Sydney, Australia.

Patrick Culbert, our founder and CEO, has worked in software since 1998, when he co-founded an Asia Pacific services business in his early twenties with two partners. They delivered technical support, product localisation, and custom software to companies including FileMaker, Cisco, Intel, Palm, Nuance Communications and Novell — running FileMaker’s regional technical support team and designing its Asia Pacific website and online store for over a decade.

In 2007 he founded eify Pty Ltd, a workforce management platform used on major Australian infrastructure projects. It managed over 100,000 users across pre-qualification, online induction, identity verification, site access via kiosks and turnstiles with integrated drug and alcohol testing and more. He sold the business in 2018.

The team behind Mailopoly has spent careers shipping software and chose to spend this one on something they use every day. We pride ourselves on shipping fast — features and improvements land in days and weeks, not quarters — and we don’t intend to slow down.
